HyStool – Stool test made easy
HyStool – the simplest and most hygienic stool test device
HyStool was designed to make collecting a stool sample as simple as possible. Taking a stool test for bowel cancer screening, inflammatory bowel disease or any other condition is at best unpleasant and leaves many people stressed as to how they will complete the task.
A collection device that actually does dissolve in water
There are other stool collection devices on the market, some claim to be flushable, but unlike these paper based stool test devices HyStool easily dissolves in water so it can be safely flushed away. as it is flushable nothing needs to be retrieved from the toilet bowl after use.

Hygienic – Nothing to fit or retrieve from the toilet bowl
Some stool test collection devices are designed to be fitted to the inside the actual toilet bowl. This is potentially unhygienic as the toilet bowl can be contaminated with faecal matter and cleansing agents. This could affect the test results if any cross contamination were to occur.
HyStool was designed to be attached to the toilet seat. There is no need to touch the inside of a toilet bowl. This makes HyStool far more hygienic and less susceptible to cross contamination.

Catch a whole stool
When carrying out a stool test for bowel cancer screening or inflammatory bowel disease it is important that urine does not contaminate the stool as this can affect the test results. The recommendation is that the patient should always go for a pee before doing the test, however unlike devices which fit inside a toilet bowl, HyStool has been designed to leave a space at the front of the bowl so that accidentally discharged urine “might” avoid the bag.
Some stool tests require the whole stool to be collected and being a bag HyStool is more suitable to catch the whole stool rather than some other devices which do not have any sides.

Fits in a postal collection kit
Many countries have bowel cancer screening programmes, which involve the sending out of stool sample screening test kits through postal services for patients to complete at home.
A typical faecal immunochemical test kit can be sent out in a standard size envelope. HyStool has been designed so that it fits inside this envelope. One packed HyStool collection bag measures 195mm x 120mm and weighs in at 13 grams. Because it is made from a flexible pva material it can be folded into a smaller shape if required whilst still retaining its integrity.
The HyStool stool test kit comes with instructions printed onto the packaging.
